Lena C. Chaisson-Munoz was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley of south Texas. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, in 2007 and her Juris Doctorate and Masters in Business Administration from Rutgers University in Camden, New Jersey, in 2012.

During her tenure at Rutgers, Ms. Chaisson-Munoz worked in a civil practice clinic, interned in the general counsel office of Philadelphia’s largest hospital system, and served multiple pro bono projects. She also served as the campus chapter president of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. Upon her return to Texas, Ms. Chaisson-Munoz worked at a labor and employment defense firm in Houston, Texas, where she focused on Title VII investigations and general human resource issues.
